Cookie Policy
We use cookies to make our website work properly and to understand how visitors use it. This page explains what cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them.
What is a cookie?
A plain-language explanation of what cookies are and how they work on your device.
Small text files
Cookies are tiny files placed on your device when you visit a website. They store small amounts of data about your visit.
Not harmful
Cookies do not contain viruses or personal data beyond what you share with the site. They cannot access your device files.
Session or persistent
Session cookies delete when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device for a set period of time.
You are in control
You can accept, reject, or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings or our preference controls.
The four types of cookies
we use.
Each category of cookie serves a different purpose. Two are essential to the site working; two are optional and require your consent.
Strictly Necessary
Essential to the core functionality of our website. Without these, the site cannot work. They cannot be disabled.
Functional
Remember your preferences and settings to make your experience smoother on return visits. Can be disabled without breaking the site.
Analytics
Help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are popular, where people leave, and how they navigate. All data is aggregated and anonymous.
Marketing
Used to show you relevant advertising based on your browsing behavior. These are placed by our advertising partners and may track you across other websites.

How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for four main purposes, each described in detail in the Cookie Types section above:
- To make the website work: Strictly necessary cookies enable core functions — your shopping cart, checkout, and account access would not function without them.
- To remember your preferences: Functional cookies save your settings so you don't have to re-enter them on every visit.
- To improve our website: Analytics cookies give us anonymized data about how visitors use our site, helping us identify what works and what can be improved.
- To show you relevant advertising: Marketing cookies, where enabled, help us show ads to people who have visited our site and are more likely to be interested in our products.
We do not use cookies to collect sensitive personal information, to build individual profiles for sale to third parties, or for any purpose beyond what is described in this policy.
Third-Party Cookies
In addition to our own cookies, certain third-party services we use also place cookies on your device when you visit our Site. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review.
The third parties whose cookies may be present on our Site include:
- Google Analytics — Website traffic analytics. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Ads — Advertising and remarketing (if active). Google Privacy Policy
- Facebook / Meta — Advertising via the Facebook Pixel (if active). Meta Privacy Policy
- Stripe / PayPal — Payment processing. These providers set cookies to detect fraud and process payments securely.
- WooCommerce / WordPress — Our e-commerce platform, which sets cookies for session and cart management.
We do not control these third-party cookies and cannot modify or delete them directly. To opt out of their data collection, please refer to each provider's individual opt-out mechanisms linked above.
Cookie Consent
When you first visit our Site, we display a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored so that we do not need to ask again on subsequent visits.
Strictly necessary cookies are always active as they are required for the site to function. All other cookie categories — functional, analytics, and marketing — require your consent before being activated.
You may withdraw or update your cookie consent at any time by:
- Clearing your cookies through your browser settings (this resets your consent preference and the banner will reappear)
- Contacting us at support@smhomeorganization.shop to request manual preference changes
Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any data processing that occurred before you withdrew consent.
Your Choices
You have several options for controlling cookies on our Site and across the web:
Browser Settings
All major browsers allow you to manage cookie preferences. You can configure your browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to alert you when a cookie is set. The instructions for managing cookies in popular browsers are linked in the "Manage Cookie Preferences" section below.
Google Analytics Opt-Out
To prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visit, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. This works across all websites that use Google Analytics.
Digital Advertising Alliance
If you are in the United States, you can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies by visiting optout.aboutads.info. Note that opting out does not stop all advertising — it prevents your data from being used for targeted advertising by participating companies.
Network Advertising Initiative
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising via the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org.
Impact of Disabling Cookies
Disabling cookies may affect your experience on our Site. The impact depends on which cookies you disable:
- Strictly necessary cookies disabled: The Site will not function correctly. You will be unable to add items to your cart, proceed to checkout, or log in to your account. We strongly advise against disabling these.
- Functional cookies disabled: The Site will work, but your preferences will not be saved between sessions. You may need to re-enter information on each visit.
- Analytics cookies disabled: The Site works fully. You simply won't contribute to our anonymous usage statistics. There is no negative impact on your browsing experience.
- Marketing cookies disabled: The Site works fully. You will still see advertisements, but they may be less relevant to your interests. You will not be tracked for retargeting purposes.
Our recommendation: Accept strictly necessary and functional cookies for the best shopping experience. Analytics and marketing cookies are entirely optional and have no impact on your ability to use the Site.
Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing not be tracked. There is currently no universally agreed-upon standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and we do not currently alter our data collection practices based on DNT signals.
However, you can use the cookie controls described in this policy to limit the tracking that occurs when you visit our Site. We will update this section if an industry standard for DNT compliance emerges that we choose to follow.
Policy Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of our Site after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If the changes are significant, we may also notify you through a notice on our website or by email.
